expected to increase their prices through statistics, and the drugs with a price
increase of more than 100 are relatively the fewest. There are only 3 varieties,
namely injection Urokinase, Bleomycin Saline for Injection, and Pingyangmycin
Hydrochloride for Injection. Among them, the price of 250,000 units of urokinase
for injection rose from 74.9 yuan to 498 yuan, an increase of 564.89%!
After the news about the price increase of various medicines exploded among
the media, the price increase indicated that the price was the proposed
adjustment price declared by the enterprise itself, not the final price, but it
also mentioned that the country’s easily-shortage drugs are allowed to be
declared by the enterprise voluntarily Price adjustment, among which the
shortage of drugs includes urokinase. Shortage drugs such as urokinase allow
companies to actively declare within a reasonable range and make dynamic
adjustments to ensure reasonable profits for companies, which is conducive to
improving the clinical supply of shortage drugs and low-priced drugs.
The price increase of urokinase for injection is so big that although it is
rare, it is also reasonable. The person in charge of Jiudong said: the shortage
of urokinase has always existed. In 2012, the focus interview made a special
report on the shortage of urokinase, which also attracted public attention, but
nearly ten years have passed, and the problem of urokinase shortage has not been
alleviated but has become a more urgent problem. On December 30, 2020, urokinase
was listed by the Department of Drug Administration as a national key monitoring
list of clinically necessary and vulnerable drugs ([2020] No. 25 document).
Subsequently, Guizhou, Guangdong, Hubei, Jiangxi, Gansu, Shandong, Hainan,
Jiangsu, In Shaanxi, Hainan, Ningxia, and other provinces, urokinase is included
in the list of shortage drugs and list of shortage drugs.
Urokinase for injection is a thrombolytic drug, mainly used for
thrombolytic therapy of thromboembolic diseases, and it is a kind of urgent
rescue drug in short supply.
